River Hazards

As of Monday, December 22nd, there are two river hazards on the McKenzie that guides, boaters, and river users should be aware of.

Current reported hazards include:

  • Fish Rock: A large log jam is present and was reported as very difficult to get by.
  • Milepost 52 (just above the McKenzie Trail): A tree is down across the entire river, creating a full blockage.

These conditions may change with weather and river flow, so please use extra caution if you are on the water and help spread the word to others in the river community. Safety on the McKenzie depends on communication and shared awareness.

Update on Fish Rock Obstruction

I wanted to provide you with an important update regarding the situation at Fish Rock. While the log jam has been mitigated and there is now an open path along the traditional route, there are still some logs remaining in the rapid. Please proceed with caution and stay vigilant while navigating through this area. Your safety is our top priority!
